Will My Child Know I'm Monitoring?

No — your child won't know their Aqua One is being monitored unless you tell them. Monitoring runs silently in the background and is invisible on their device.

No, your child will not know their Aqua One is being monitored unless you choose to tell them. Aqua One's monitoring software runs entirely in the background and is invisible on the device. It does not display any notifications, icons, or indicators that would reveal its presence to your child.

What does the phone look like to your child?

From your child's perspective, the Aqua One functions like a regular Google Pixel 9. They can use all their apps, send messages, browse the internet, and take photos just as they would on any other smartphone. The monitoring happens silently and seamlessly without affecting their experience in any way.

The one exception: Nudity Prevention alerts

If the Nudity Prevention feature detects nudity through the camera, the phone will lock immediately, and a lock screen will appear on your child's device. This is intentional — the lockdown is designed to stop the situation before it escalates and to prompt your child to contact you for the unlock code.

Should I tell my child about monitoring?

While the monitoring is invisible, we strongly encourage parents to have an open, age-appropriate conversation with their child about Aqua One. Research consistently shows that children who understand why monitoring is in place — and feel trusted, not surveilled — are more likely to make responsible choices online. Transparency builds trust, and trust leads to better communication when problems arise.
