Always update your Aqua One on a secure, strong Wi-Fi connection. Attempting to install an update over mobile data is not recommended and may result in the update failing to complete.
Why Wi-Fi is required
Aqua One updates can be sizeable files, particularly feature updates that introduce new monitoring tools or system improvements. Downloading large files over mobile data can be slow, unreliable, and may use a significant portion of your child's data allowance. More importantly, a weak or interrupted connection mid-update can cause the installation to fail, which may require troubleshooting to resolve.
What happens if the update fails?
If your child taps "Install Now" without being connected to a strong Wi-Fi signal and the update doesn't go through, a screen will appear on the device explaining that the update was not successful. The most common reason listed will be the internet connection. Simply reconnect to Wi-Fi and try again.
How to make sure the update succeeds
Connect to your home Wi-Fi network before starting the update.
Make sure the signal is strong — if the device is far from the router, move closer.
Keep the device plugged in during the update to avoid any battery-related interruptions.
Ensure at least 10–15 GB of free storage is available on the Aqua One before installing.
If you continue to have trouble with updates even on Wi-Fi, our Customer Care team is available through the live chat on your Parent Dashboard.
