Why doesn't a VPN block monitoring?
A VPN (Virtual Private Network) works by encrypting internet traffic between a device and the VPN server, masking the user's IP address and making their web activity harder to trace from outside the network. However, VPNs operate at the network layer — they do not affect what happens on the device itself.
Aqua One's monitoring captures activity directly on the device before it ever reaches the network. This means a VPN has no ability to hide app usage, screen content, messages, or any other activity from your Parent Dashboard.
Does this apply to all VPN apps?
Yes — whether your child uses a free VPN, a paid service, or any other VPN app downloaded from the Google Play Store, your monitoring remains fully intact. The Aqua One's Instant Replay and activity tracking continue to capture everything as normal.
