What should I do if an update fails to install?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

First, don’t panic. Updates can occasionally hit a bump, but the fix is usually super simple. If the update fails, a screen should pop up on your device showing the reason the update didn’t go through, or a screen giving you the option to reach out to us for support.

Here is what to try first:

  1. Make sure your device has enough storage. We recommend having 15 GB free to install a new update. A full phone can block an update from going through.

  2. Give your device a quick restart and try installing the update again. A fresh start can work wonders.

  3. Check your internet connection. No signal or a weak signal means no update.

  4. Still stuck? Reach out to our support team on your Parent Dashboard. They are real humans and ready to help.

The good news: Most of the time, you will be back on track in just a few taps. Stay calm, follow the steps, and you will be updated in no time. Stay calm, follow the steps, and you will be updated in no time.
